EXTENDED DISPLAY IDENTIFICATION DATA (EDID) PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

Disclosed are an extended display identification data (EDID) processing method and apparatus for dynamically refreshing EDID. The method comprises: when an external device connected to a display device supports a Dolby Atmos (ATMOS) capability, controlling a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) module of the display device, so as to disconnect the display device from the external device; updating EDID of the display device to obtain updated EDID; loading the updated EDID to the HDMI module; and controlling the HDMI module, so as to reconnect the display device to the external device.
