A display apparatus and a control method are disclosed. The display apparatus comprises: an output unit for displaying an object including payment card information; an input unit for receiving an input of identification information for user authentication; and a control unit for executing a first mode in which normal payment function is carried out when stored identification information matches the inputted identification information, wherein when predetermined conditions are satisfied, the control unit can be converted from the first mode to a second mode in which a separate processing mode is carried out.
