Disclosed are a tool shape measurement method and a tool shape measurement device wherein, by relatively scanning and moving a working tool (11), or a tool holding mechanism (30) that holds the working tool (11), with respect to a measurement unit (160) comprising a line laser (12) that irradiates the working tool (11) or the tool holding mechanism (30) with a slit-shaped laser beam and a camera (13) that captures an image of a cross section of the working tool (11) or the tool holding mechanism (30) formed by said laser beam emitted by the line laser (12), the two-dimensional shape formed by said cross section is measured. The measurement unit (160) is fixed to a machine tool (100) or a peripheral device (200) thereof. The working tool (11) or the tool holding mechanism (30) is scanned and moved by a moving means of the machine tool (100) or the peripheral device (200). |
