The present invention relates to data analysis for evaluating a plurality of subject data, the evaluation corresponding to a relationship between each subject data and a prescribed case. An index that makes it to possible to rank the plurality of subject data hierarchically is generated by evaluation, the index changing on the basis of an input supplied by a user. The rank of the plurality of subject data changes in accordance with the index that changes on the basis of the input. The input classifies reference data that is different from the plurality of subject data on the basis of a relationship between the reference data and a prescribed case. The classification is divided into multiple pieces of classification information in accordance with the content of the reference data, at least one of the multiple pieces of classification information being added to the reference data by the input. The present invention extracts, from the reference data, a pattern by which the reference data is characterized in accordance with the classification information added by the input. The present invention evaluates a relationship between subject data and a prescribed case on the basis of the extracted pattern and determines an index, sets the determined index to the subject data, ranks the plurality of subject data hierarchically in accordance with the index, and notifies a user of the plurality of ranked subject data.
