[Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A method of manufactur ing a large trough-shapec reflector consists in securing together a number of frames a, which may be castings of a light alloy, and two or more strips e, machining flat the rear surfaces f of the strips, mounting the assembly on the surfaces f and machining the front surfaces of the frames a to the shape required for the reflector, dismantling and reassembling the frames in the same relationship but with distance pieces d between the frames, temporarily securing a thin sheet of metal to the frames, as by screws h, removing the sheet and applying a reflective surface thereto, and finally securing it to the frames a. An aluminium reflector is anodized. A support to hold lamps and louvres or reflectors may be fixed to the reflector framework. |
