A trigger mechanism for a device that includes a depressible trigger 106 and a bushing 110 releasably coupled to a housing 115 by a releasable fastener, such as an E-clip 130. The mechanism can also include O-rings 120, 125 to provide an air-tight seal between the bushing 110 and the housing 115. The mechanism comprises a trigger body 106 and trigger stem 107 with the bushing 110 having a tube that slidably receives the stem and is adapted to be friction-fit within the housing. The bushing 110 is releasably coupled to the housing to prevent axial movement. The mechanism may also comprise ridges 135 disposed circumferentially around the bushing to friction fit the bushing within the housing. To replace the retention mechanism, a user need only release the fastener and pull the bushing outwardly from its position within the housing, rather than replacing the entire handle or trigger assembly. |
