PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a battery having a function promptly attenuating short circuit current when battery temperature rises due to an internal short circuit; and a method for manufacturing the battery.SOLUTION: In a battery, at least one of a positive electrode (2) and a negative electrode (1) includes an active material layer (4, 5) formed on a collector (6, 7), the active material layer containing an active material (45A) and one or more of electronic conductive materials (45C) having PTC characteristics of increasing electrical resistance with an increase of temperature. The electronic conductive materials (45C) in the active material layer (4,5) have a structure having such a distribution that the percentage content of the electronic conductive materials becomes high as near to the collector (6, 7), and low on the opposite side to the collector. |
