The present invention relates to a catalyst system for olefin oligomerization and an olefin oligomerization using the same. The catalyst system for olefin oligomerization according to the present invention exhibits high selectivity to 1-hexene while having an excellent catalytic activity, thereby efficiently manufacturing of alpha-olefin. The catalyst system for olefin oligomerization comprises: a ligand compound represented by chemical formula 1; a transition metal source; and a promotor.
