661,616. Coil making apparatus. MICAFIL SOC. ANON. June 3, 1949 [July 16, 1948], No. 14931/49. Class 35. A winding former for winding a stator includes two pivotally-joined levers 1, 2, one being joined at the middle to one end of the other lever. These levers can be aligned and secured in this position by a locking device, e.g. a pivoted wedge 3 carried by the member 1 in such a way that the wedge can swivel and lock both levers 1, 2 when these are in a straight line. When the levers are aligned, they lie axially over an empty slot 5 between the two slots 16 which are to be wound. At each end of the winding former, there are transverse elements 6 with two beak-shaped corner-pieces 7, 8 in order to prevent the wire from moving out of position. The links 10 of the hinged links 10, 12 operated by a lever 13 serve to grip the rods 9 fitted between the pieces 7, 8 so that the winding former can be pressed against the stator core. After a coil 14 has been wound, the winding former is removed by first disengaging the links 10 from the rods and then by freeing the members 1, 2 by withdrawing the wedge 3. |
