PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of communication.SOLUTION: A PON system includes: a first PON in which an upper-level termination device is connected with a communication device; and a second PON in which a lower-level termination device is connected with the communication device. The communication device includes: a communication unit that communicates with the upper-level termination device via any optical transmission path among a plurality of optical transmission paths connecting the upper-level termination device and the communication device; and a switching unit that switches the optical transmission path used by the communication unit to any optical transmission path among the plurality of optical transmission paths according to a failure situation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
