Disclosed is a method of recognizing, by a terminal, a motion of a user. The method includes receiving, by a terminal, a plurality of motion inputs, determining an intended motion input from among the plurality of motion inputs received, and performing terminal control corresponding to the intended motion input determined from among the plurality of motion inputs received. Determining the intended motion input includes determining, as the intended motion input, a motion input which is input for a first time after a motion input which is in a stationary state for at least a predetermined time is received.
