Provided are a method and a device for an electronic device to receive an input of Korean characters. Provided is a method for inputting Korean characters, the method comprising the steps of: displaying, on the screen of an electronic device, consonant buttons for imputing Korean consonants; identifying the fingers of a user; according to the detection of the motion of a first finger among the fingers, selecting a consonant button corresponding to the position of the first finger; according to a consonant button being selected, displaying, on the screen of the electronic device, vowel buttons which correspond to a second finger, a third finger, and a fourth finger among the fingers, and which is for imputing Korean vowels; and, according to the detection of the motion of at least one among the second finger, the third finger, and the fourth finger, selecting at least one vowel button corresponding to the at least one finger.
