A decorative Christmas item 1 has an internal space 2 and an outer surface (3, Fig. 1), and includes at least one light-transmitting portion (4, Fig. 1). A number of LEDs 5 are mounted on a mounting device 6 in the internal space 2 for illuminating the internal space. The mounting device 6 includes a basic element 7 for aligning the mounting device in the internal space 2 as well as an LED mount 8 for mounting the LEDs 5. The LEDS may be powered by a battery source 15. |
