The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for separating single cells, the apparatus comprising: a fluid channel composed of an upper panel and a lower panel and having a path, formed between the upper panel and the lower panel, for transferring a sample containing single cells; a single cell measurement part composed of first and second electrodes, which are provided so as to be distanced from each other at a predetermined interval in the fluid channel and apply an electrical signal to a sample transferred through the path of the fluid channel, and of a detecting electrode, which is provided between the first and second electrodes and detects the single cells in the sample transferred through the path, thereby applying an electrical signal to the sample transferred through the path, detecting the electrical signal of the sample, to which the electrical signal has been applied, so as to detect whether single cells are present in the sample; and a single cell separation control device for outputting a single cell separation control signal when single cells are detected by the detecting electrode. Therefore, there is an effect of effectively separating, within a short time, single cells from a sample containing single cells. |
