<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate input means whose manipulated variables are changed by the manual operation of a passenger with a feeling of operation following the intention of the passenger. <P>SOLUTION: In-vehicle equipment is controlled (operated) in accordance with the manipulated variables of a commander switch 10 as input means. The operation force of a commander switch 10 is detected by an operation force detector 22, and an operation reaction force is applied to the commander switch 10 by a reaction force generation unit (for example, electromagnetic brake) 24. The operation reaction force is determined by a control part 21 so that a necessary operation force obtained by subtracting the operation reaction force from the operation force can be set to a fixed value.
