The present invention relates to a device for protecting a user from falling, the device being capable of detecting a user fall before the user collides with a floor and preventing a user injury by operation of a separate protector. The device for protecting a user from falling comprises: a case for wrapping a user′s waist and being worn in the shape of a belt; a detecting unit which includes a measuring part that is attached to a user′s body and continuously measures second measurement values that are motion information of the user, a comparing part that derives specific variables from among the second measurement values measured at the measuring part by using values changed according to whether the user falls or not and compares each of the specific variables with a predetermined threshold, and a controlling part that generates a separate driving signal before the user collides with the floor when the specific variables of the second measurement values are equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold, the detecting unit being embedded inside the case; and a protector which is accommodated in the case and operated by means of the driving signal generated by the controlling part so that the protector expands to wrap the user′s buttocks.
