The present invention relates to a method to recognize a finger based on a geometric feature using a convex-hull to recognize a shape of a finger by using a convex-hull in a depth image. The method comprises: (a) a step of obtaining a handle region from the depth image; (b) a step of obtaining the smallest convex-hull including the hand region; (b) a step of extracting boundary points in the convex-hull of the handle region and selecting the final boundary points based on a distance between the neighboring boundary points and a size of an included angle; and (c) a step of recognizing the shape of the hand by using the final boundary points. The method to recognize a finger based on a geometric feature can recognize a model with high recognition rates and can recognize a hand shape fixed to a simple specific direction and a twisted hand shape with an excellent recognition performance. |
