PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly determine whether or not there is a risk that a medium to be recorded is brought into contact with an ink discharge surface in two-sided printing.SOLUTION: After completion of printing to a first surface of a recording sheet, printing to a second surface opposite to the first surface is performed. When performing printing to the second surface, distance information (a digital value D) indicating a distance between an ink discharge surface and the recording sheet is generated from a detection signal input from a media sensor (S118). The distance information is corrected on the basis of the amount of ink of each color discharged to each portion of the first surface of the recording sheet, the type of black ink and the type of a recording sheet P (S119). When the digital value Da after correction is larger than a threshold T (S120: YES), printing is interrupted (S121). After the lapse of prescribed stand-by time (S122: YES), printing is resumed (S123).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
