PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize arc discharge to suppress illuminance fluctuation in a discharge lamp in which an electrode is formed by joining different metal materials.SOLUTION: In a short arc type discharge lamp 10 including a cathode 20 and an anode 30, the cathode 20, in which a joint surface S is formed along a direction perpendicular to an electrode axis of a taper part 20A, is formed by joining a metal member 22 made of thoriated tungsten to a metal member 24 made of molybdenum and having a thermal expansion coefficient larger than that of the metal member 22 by solid-phase bonding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
