An exhaust gas treatment unit at least includes an approach flow region, a diverting region, a backflow region and an outflow region disposed consecutively in terms of flow. The backflow region and the outflow region are disposed on an outer surface of the approach flow region and an addition unit for a reaction agent is disposed in the outflow region.
