The present invention relates to a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display including the same. More specifically, the backlight unit includes: a light guide plate; a light source module which is arranged near an incidence surface of the light guide plate to irradiate light to the incidence surface; and a light control member which is arranged between the light source module and the incidence surface. The light control member includes: an anti-reflection film which is arranged near the light source module to prevent the reflection of light; a base substrate which is arranged on the anti-reflection film to scatter and diffuse the light passing through the anti-reflection film; and a light adjustment filter which is arranged on the base substrate to filter the light provided by the light source module in a partial wavelength range.
