PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device where assembly properties of the device and interference with the other member are taken into account in a fitting position of detection means and a routing structure of a cable from the detection means to a circuit board.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording head; a plurality of medium storage sections; a first base portion provided at one side with the plurality of medium storage sections interposed between the first base portion and a second base portion; the second base portion provided at the other side; a top plate portion connecting the first base portion and the second base portion and being positioned closer to a downstream side than the recording head in a medium transportation path; first detection means being provided at a position where facing the medium storage sections and detecting at least one of presence/absence of a medium to be recorded and presence/absence of the medium storage section in the medium storage section positioned at a position where the medium can be fed out of the plurality of medium storage sections; a circuit board provide on the top plate portion; and a cable connecting the first detection means and the circuit board. The cable passes through a cable protective portion provided on a side face of the first base portion or the second base portion facing the medium storage sections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
