PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify a travel lane for moving objects.SOLUTION: An identifying device acquires positional information on a moving object, detects objects present on a boundary between a driveway and any non-driveway space around the moving object, and calculates a distance to each of the objects. "Non-driveway space" refers to a sidewalk, median, building or fence adjoining a driveway for instance, and "objects present on a boundary between a driveway and any non-driveway space" include curbstones for example. And the identifying device identifies, on the basis of the distance to each of the objects and road information on that road, a travel lane for the moving object to travel on. Further, the identifying device figures out the reliability level of distances to the objects, and identifies a travel lane only when the reliability level is high enough.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
