PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operation sound due to a tremor of a lid member covering an optical box in a scanning optical device including the optical box.SOLUTION: An optical scanning device has: an optical box 13 that houses a light source unit, a rotary polygon mirror implementing a rotation drive to thereby deflect laser light to be irradiated from the light source unit, and a motor causing the rotary polygon mirror to be rotated and driven, and is anchored to a device body of an image formation device; and a lid member 12 that covers the optical box 13.
