PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve read image quality improvement, while taking account of deterioration of a light source.SOLUTION: The light intensity distribution of a read image from a reading section for a white reference board is acquired by irradiating the white reference board, provided to extend in the main scanning direction for the platen glass, with light from a light source. Deterioration state of the light source is determined, on the basis of the light intensity distribution thus acquired. On the basis of the determination results, a γ correction table to be used for γ correction of an image read in the reading section is set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
