The present invention provides for a method and system for guaranteed play of an advertisement in a video. The method comprises: at a video player, receiving a command to advance the play of a video to a forward location subsequent to a current proxy advertisement location, the current proxy advertisement location indicating a location in the video at which to play an advertisement; determining a new proxy advertisement location in the video at which to play the advertisement, the new proxy advertisement location equal to the forward location or any location subsequent to the forward location, the video player to play the advertisement at the new proxy advertisement location. |
