An annular shade 10 for a view device 11 comprises a peripheral wall 13 erectable and collapsible in the viewing direction. The shade fits closely around the lens or screen of a device such as a mobile phone, tablet, telescope, or camera. The wall is continuous and extends in the viewing direction. The shade may comprise annular segments 15-18 that successively increase in size, such that the segments may nest within one another. Adjacent segments may be connected by respective resilient flexible membranes. The shade may be made of a resilient plastics material or molded in silicone rubber. The shade may comprise a base 12 from which the shade is erected, wherein the base is planar and substantially continuous. The base may comprise a perimeter frame defining a through aperture and may have openings for buttons, switches and viewfinders. The shade may collapse obliquely such that one side of the wall is erect whilst the opposite side is collapsed with the remaining sides being collapsed at an angle. The shade may be reversible to shade an in use front or back of the device and may further comprise a cover for the opening. |
