A horizontal boring or drilling-machine comprises a spindle-box 4 movable on two round, vertical columns 2 which are connected to the bed 1 of the machine and joined at the top by a cross-member 3. A work-lifting device, which may be swingable, may be mounted on the member 3 and a support 6 provided for the member 3. Counterweights 9, 13 for the spindle-box are suspended within the columns 2 and support 10, and bellows 5, 6 on the columns exclude dirt from the guide surfaces. |
