A polarizing plate of the present invention includes a polarizing film and a transparent protecting layer provided to at least one side of the polarizing film. The polarizing film and the transparent protecting layer are laminated by interposing a first adhesive layer. The thickness of the polarizing film is not higher than 10 μm. The total thickness of the transparent protecting layer is six times lower than the thickness of the polarizing film. The water vaper permeability of the transparent protecting layer is not higher than 200 g/m2/24 hr. A bulk absorption factor of the first adhesive layer is not higher than 10 wt%. |
