PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera system and a monitoring method in a monitoring camera system that enable telephone conversion between a camera and a portable terminal when a target is detected by a sensor, thereby enhancing usability for users.SOLUTION: In a monitoring camera system 5, when a human detection sensor 40B detects an intruder, sensor detection information is transmitted to a master unit 10. The master unit 10 transmits a transmission request for video/audio data to a monitoring camera 30B. When a smart phone 50 accepts a monitor instructing operation, the master unit 10 transmits the video data transmitted from the monitoring camera 30B to the smart phone 50. The smart phone 50 displays the video data transmitted from the monitoring camera 30B on a touch panel, and transmits a request signal for starting telephone conversation when accepting a tap operation of a mute icon. The master unit 10 transmits the request signal of starting the telephone conversion from the smart phone 50 to the monitoring camera 30B. The telephone conversion between the smart phone 50 and the monitoring camera 30B is started. |
