A method for cell selection including a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell is described, the method including receiving priority information or reselection information, storing the information at a wireless transmit/receive unit, and applying the priority information for cell selection.

1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
a receiver and a processor configured to detect a signal of a cell for cell reselection on a frequency, wherein the signal includes an intra-frequency reselection indicator; the receiver and the processor are further configured to determine from the signal whether the cell is a barred cell; the receiver and the processor are further configured to, on a condition that the cell is a barred cell, determine that the cell is not a candidate for cell reselection; and the receiver and the processor are further configured to determine whether the cell is a Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) cell and are further configured to allow intra-frequency cell reselection to a different cell on the frequency regardless of the value of the intra-frequency reselection indicator on a condition that the cell is a CSG cell and that the different cell meets reselection criteria.
