<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the display quality of a liquid crystal display device even under a high-temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate and a second substrate which are disposed to face each other, a first electrode disposed on one surface of the first substrate, a second electrode disposed on one surface of the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer aligned vertically and disposed between each of the one surfaces of the first substrate and the second substrate. The first electrode includes a plurality of first openings 31 regularly arranged. The second electrode includes a plurality of second openings 32 regularly arranged. Each of a plurality of the first openings and each of a plurality of the second openings have an outer periphery with an isosceles trapezoidal shape whose hypotenuse is longer than an upper side and a lower side when viewed from above, and the first openings and the second openings are arranged alternately along a first direction X, which is approximately parallel to the upper side and the lower side so that the adjacent hypotenuses of the first opening and second opening are approximately parallel to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
