Disclosed is a battery module which has a simple structure and can be miniaturized by removing or drastically reducing a cooling space or a cooling member such as a cooling plate in the battery module. In addition, production costs can be reduced, and efficient cooling performance is secured as well. According to the present invention, the battery module comprises: a plurality of secondary batteries which are arranged in a horizontal direction while standing in a vertical direction; a plurality of cartridges which comprise unit frames of which both end parts are interconnected each other, accommodate the secondary batteries in an inner space between the unit frames, and are laminated by being reciprocally arranged in the horizontal direction and in which a lower part of the accommodated secondary batteries is placed on an upper part of a lower unit frame among the unit frames; and a cooling duct supplying cooling gas to an exterior of the laminated cartridges.
