Disclosed is a large runner for a blast furnace including a transferring unit through which molten steel and slag discharged from the blast furnace are transferred; a refractory unit covering the inner surface of the transferring unit to protect the transferring unit from the molten steel and the slag; and a skimmer of which one end is joined to the inner upper part of the transferring unit and the other end forms an open area with the refractory unit and passing through the molten wire except for the slag through the open area. The present invention provides the large runner for the blast furnace characterized by a fact that a ratio of the width of the open area to the width of the transferring unit is in the range of 1:0.45 to 1:0.52.
