PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-intake apparatus which can prevent radioactive substances from being mixed in a sand layer and a gravel layer even when back washing operation is performed, and can store river water at a level suitable as drinking water.SOLUTION: A water-intake apparatus in a river includes a water storage tank 7, a filtration part 5, water collecting parts 10, 14 which stores river water, filtered by the filtration part 5, in the water storage tank 7, valves 12, 16 which open and close the flows of the river water from the water collecting parts 10, 14 to the water storage tank 7, and a control part which performs opening and closing control of the valves 12, 16. The filtration part 5 comprises, from an upper layer to a lower layer, a natural stone layer 5a, sand layers 5c, 5d, and gravel layers 5e, 5f, and a radioactive substance adsorption layer 5b is arranged between the natural stone layer 5a and the sand layers 5c, 5d. |
