POLYMERIZATION OF FLUORINATED MONOMERS CONTAINING FLUORINATED EMULSIFIER AND FLUORINATED POLYMERS THEREBY

The present invention relates to a method of polymerizing fluorinated monomers including a fluorinated emulsifier and fluorinated polymers prepared by the method. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method of preparing fluorinated polymers by polymerizing fluorinated monomers and particularly to a waterborne emulsion polymerization method using a fluorinated emulsifier represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R1 is hydrogen or methyl; R2 is a C1-C12 linear or branched alkyl, and the alkyl may be further substituted with a heterocyclic alkyl or amino group; n is an integer of 1 to 5; and x as a molar fraction satisfies 0.05 <= x/(x+y+z) <= 0.99, y as a molar fraction satisfies 0.01 <= y/(x+y+z) <= 0.60, and z as a molar fraction satisfies 0.01 <= z/(x+y+z) <= 0.50. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method of polymerizing fluorinated monomers comprising a fluorinated emulsifier and fluorinated polymers prepared thereby that have excellent chemical and thermal stabilities, have a high polymerization speed and excellent dispersion stability and yield during emulsion polymerization, and easily control molecular weights and particle sizes of the fluorinated polymers. Other purpose of the present invention is to provide a method of polymerizing fluorinated monomers comprising a new environment-friendly fluorinated emulsifier which has low toxicity and is not accumulated in the human body, and fluorinated polymers prepared thereby. Other purpose of the present invention is to provide a process of polymerizing environment-friendly fluorinated monomers which can reduce costs and efforts used in wastewater treatment by easily recovering a fluorinated emulsifier.
