PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure pump capable of preventing a seizure between a cylinder and a plunger while ensuring the pressurization of fuel up to a desired pressure.SOLUTION: A plate member 35 is provided in a pump cover 30 in which a pressurization-chamber formation member 12 forming a pressurization chamber pressurizing fuel and a cylinder accommodating therein a plunger to be able to make a reciprocating motion are accommodated. The plate member 35 partitions a region into an area A30 and an area B30 formed between an upper pump body 18 and the pump cover 30, so that low-pressure fuel flowing from an inlet 311 is guided by the plate member 35 to flow around the cylinder and the pressurization-chamber formation member 12 as indicated by an arrow F. The low-pressure fuel at a relatively low temperature can efficiently cool the cylinder and the pressurization-chamber formation member 12 that are heated to a relatively high temperature by frictional heat generated by the reciprocating motion of the plunger. It is, therefore, possible to prevent vaporization of the fuel in the pressurization chamber due to the frictional heat between the cylinder and the plunger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
