<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print an image of a quality according to a user's preference while suppressing uneveness in glossiness when printing using UV ink. <P>SOLUTION: When printing an image having a prescribed glossiness, a first relation in which there exist a clear Duty corresponding to all ranges in which a color Duty fluctuates and a second relation in which there does not exist a clear Duty corresponding to a prescribed range in which the color Duty fluctuates are present. When a clear Duty corresponding to a color Duty of a certain size exists in a plurality of numbers based on the first relation and the second relation, there are a first mode in which a value based on the first relation out of the plurality of clear Duties is determined as the clear Duty to be used during printing, and a second mode in which a minimum value out of the plurality of clear Duties is determined as the clear Duty to be used during printing.
