According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for calculating a log-likelihood ratio includes: a constellation storage unit for storing a constellation point arranged in a constellation, and a storage symbol which is matched with the constellation point; a conversion unit for extracting a reception symbol from a wireless signal; and a log-likelihood ratio calculating unit for outputting a log-likelihood ratio by performing exponential calculation with respect to a value. The value is obtained by raising a value obtained by adding a value multiplied by a value predetermined according to energy of the reception symbol and a location of an in-phase (I) axis or a quadrature-phase (Q) axis of the constellation points to an I axis element value or a Q axis element value of the reception symbol, to the second power. |
