The present invention relates to a point of sale (POS) system, and to a POS system using a sequential fingerprint input and a driving method therefor, wherein a POS terminal receives two or more sequential fingerprints from a user so as to construct a fingerprint combination code and transmits, to a payment server, the fingerprint combination code as a virtual card number to be recognized as a credit card having a valid number in a VAN server, and the payment server searches credit card information corresponding to the fingerprint combination code and approves a payment when the payment is performed by the credit card through the POS terminal, thereby reinforcing security and enabling cardless payment. The present invention provides a POS system using a sequential fingerprint input and a driving method therefor, wherein: when the user selects, for a POS, an account transaction which uses a bankbook or a credit card transaction using fingerprints and inputs a plurality of fingerprints in a predetermined order through a fingerprint identification device, the fingerprint identification device reads each fingerprint being inputted and provides identification codes to the POS terminal in the input order, the POS terminal generates a virtual card number to be recognized as a credit card having a valid number by the VAN server by using the identification codes of the sequential fingerprint input provided from the fingerprint identification device, and when reconstructing payment data including the virtual card number so as to transmit the payment data to the payment server, the payment server searches a fingerprint card holder DB for the fingerprint combination code so as to read and extract a corresponding credit card number, and reads and extracts credit card information from a card holder DB by using the read and extracted credit card number so as to approve the payment and transmit whether the payment is approved to the POS terminal. |
