<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavator equipped with a cutter drive section easy in assembling and disassembling and a method for assembling/disassembling the cuter drive section in the tunnel boring machine. <P>SOLUTION: A tunnel excavator is equipped with a cutter drive section in which an intermediate beam 14 of a cutter head 13 is rotatably supported to a bulk head 12 of an excavator body 10 by a bearing 16 via a thrust packing 49 and inner and outer peripheral seal packings 40, 42. A bearing housing 23 which supports the bearing 16 and a cutter drive motor 21 connected to the bearing 16 is attachable/detachable to/from the bulk head 12, and a first jig 60 for the inner peripheral seal packing and a second jig 61 for the outer peripheral seal packing are provided for temporarily fixing the intermediate beam 14 to the bulk head 12 alternately when assembling and disassembling the inner and outer peripheral seal packings 40, 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
