<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently compress image data, such as scanned data, which contains per-pixel image attribute information. <P>SOLUTION: A representative color extraction circuit (15b) extracts representative color information which is the representative value of color information in image data. An image pixel encoding circuit (15c) replaces the color information in image data with the representative color information and then converts the representative color information corresponding to each pixel of the image data into coded data. A representative tag extraction circuit (15i) extracts representative tag information which is the representative value of tag information in the image data. A tag pixel encoding circuit (15j) replaces the tag information in the image data with the representative tag information and then coverts the representative tag information corresponding to each pixel in the image data into coded data in the same format as the representative color information. A synthesis circuit (15m) combines the coded data of the representative color information corresponding to each pixel and the coded data of the representative tag information to compress the image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
