PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining device of a shaft member which rigidly fixes the shaft member to a support member when there is no intention of dismantling, and allows the shaft member to be easily dismantled at dismantling, and a constant velocity joint assembly using the device.SOLUTION: A retention device of a shaft member comprises: the shaft member 20 having a first abutment face 22a; a support member 120 having a second abutment face 124a which opposes the first abutment face; a retention member 42 which regulates the movement of the support member to a direction in which the shaft member is withdrawn from a first opening part of the support member, and can be released from the first opening part in a diameter-contracted state; and a stopper member 50 which regulates a position of the shaft member with respect to the support member to a fixed position at attachment, and permits the movement of the shaft member to an insertion direction with respect to the support member at release. |
