<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively alert a driver when the driver tries to leave the vehicle during idling stop. <P>SOLUTION: The control system for vehicle is equipped with an engine start means for starting the engine by an engine start method selected from a plurality of kinds of engine start methods with different noises at engine start, an automatic stopping means for automatically stopping the engine when a preset idling stop condition is established, and a leaving seat determination means for determining whether or not the driver has left the driver's seat. The engine start means restarts the engine when a preset restart condition is established during the idling stop. On the other hand, when the leaving seat determination means determines that the driver has left the driver's seat during the idling stop, the engine start means restarts the engine regardless of the establishment of the restart condition, and the engine is restarted by an engine start method with loud noise out of the plurality of kinds of the engine start methods. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
