<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid any failure which cannot be detected by software which is generated in the actual use on site of an integrated circuit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This integrated circuit of an LSI includes: a monitoring means for monitoring the states of any one or more signals of a bus or the like; a storage means for programmably setting any value; a comparison means for comparing the monitored state of the signal with the value set in the storage means; and a failure detection means configured of an output means which outputs a signal whose value changes according to the result of a comparison decision means.
