A method for setting the amount of EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by optimizing hesitation due to vehicle deviation and duty output value through learning. A method for setting the amount of EGR comprises: a step(S61) determining whether state condition setting EGR amount according to the charge of an accelerator pedal and vehicle speed charge; a step(S63,S64) determining whether the hesitation is generated or not by using the change of the fuel amount and revolution per minute in case state condition is satisfied; a step(S65) which gradually reduces the current EGR valve duty output at specific taper ratio until the hesitation stops; and a step(S67,S69) outputting finally reduced EGR valve duty output as next EGR valve duty output in case the hesitation is stopped with the reduction of the EGR valve duty output. |
