The inventive device for playing billiards comprises a billiards table limited by a cushion and balls, which are placed on the table and one of which is used as a cue ball, means for knocking a cue ball by the interaction of the part of the surface thereof with the part of the surface of said cue ball-knocking means and a TV camera coupled to a unit which is used for determining the position of balls on the billiards table and is connected to a computer system. In addition, the device for playing billiards comprises a mechanism for moving the cue ball knocking means designed in the form of a movable head connected to a twin-axis drive for carrying out the parallel-plane motion thereof through the entire surface of the table. The movable head is provided with a drive for turning the cue ball knocking means about a vertical axis thereof and a mechanism for displacing the knocking part of the cue ball knocking means surface.
