<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for an optical disk consisting of a polycarbonate resin having low expansion associated with low water absorption, high rigidity, high fluidity, and high transferability. <P>SOLUTION: The substrate for the optical disk consists of the polycarbonate resin formed by performing carbonate bonding of a dihydroxy compound represented by general formula (1), a dihydroxy compound represented by general formula (2) and bis (hydroxyphenyl) methane by using a carbonic acid diester or phosgene and having weight average molecular weight (Mw) expressed in terms of polystyrene of 20,000 to 200,000. In the formulas, R<SB>1</SB>denotes a hydrogen atom, a 1-8C alkyl group, or the like, and X denotes a single bond, an oxygen atom, or the like. In the formulas, R<SB>2</SB>denotes a 3-10C alkyl group or a 5-20C cycloalkyl group, R<SB>3</SB>denotes a methyl group or an ethyl group, and Y denotes a single bond, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a sulfone group, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
