PURPOSE: A rear sensing device based on an amplitude modulation radar for a vehicle is provided to minimize phase distortion by removing signals which are leaked or reflected from a structure and detecting only amplitude modulating signals reflected from a target object. CONSTITUTION: A rear sensing device(1) based on an amplitude modulation radar for a vehicle comprises a distance measuring sensor(100), a control unit(200), a light emitting unit(300), and a rear sensor housing(900). The distance measuring sensor senses a target object positioned behind the vehicle and measures the distance between the target object and the rear part of the vehicle. The control unit receives measurement signals from the distance measuring sensor. The light emitting unit is controlled and operated by the control unit. The distance measuring sensor, the control unit, and the light emitting unit are installed inside the rear sensing housing. The connection terminal(900a) of the rear sensor housing is attached to or detached from a socket(2) for a tail lamp of a vehicle.
