The system has a stand device provided with an integrated light source, where an upper surface of the stand device is horizontally variable or bent adjustable for receiving a transparent cup (1) for control liquid e.g. water. Analytic test formulations (3) are provided in the cup or in a separate closable container, and form a specific, visible, compact and stable product during contact with substances in the liquid in the test cup, where the test cup is made of transparent plastic. The stand device has a movable element with which the bent or horizontal condition is adjusted. An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of substances in liquids using a test system.
